Deep Liberation Sessions

Reclaim Your Power, Clarify Your Purpose

It’s time to liberate the BIG YOU.

The BIG YOU that is not limited or distorted by the pain of past experiences.

The BIG YOU that can be present with and truly accept all of the diverse and sometimes contradictory parts of yourself with love.

The BIG YOU who is able to respond to life’s challenges with power, passion and presence.

The BIG YOU that holds the knowledge of what you have come here to do and has full access to the unique gifts you bring with you to do it.

The process is incredibly effective, visceral and quick. You will almost certainly radically change in concrete ways in a remarkably short time. The process requires no special skills, talents or preparation for you to engage with it. It simply requires you to have the courage to show up.

Deep Liberation is NOT:
  • tapping
  • calming visualizations
  • plastering affirmations over pain
  • being told to ‘focus on the positive’
  • Receiving abstract intuitive information

Deep Liberation is about venturing into the vast unknown of your emotional landscape with a trusted guide beside you. You will be guided in engaging your emotions in a way that allows them to be expressed fully, share the information they contain and then be released. Together we will work to clear your triggers, trauma and stuck patterns, allowing the BIG YOU to move more freely out in the world.

The process is a somatic, body based healing modality deeply rooted in Actual Energy Clearing as taught by Christina Pratt at the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Studies and Inner Relationship Focusing as developed by Ann Weiser Cornell.

Working with me you will:
  • rescue wounded child parts stuck in past trauma, showing up for them in the way the adults and authority figures in their life failed to at the time, so you are no longer triggered by similar situations in the present
  • track down the source of habitual emotional patterns and transform them such as anxiety, depression, immense grief, anger, jealousy or fears, facilitating forward movement
  • identify limiting or toxic belief systems and unravel them, replacing old ‘weight bearing’ beliefs with new beliefs in alignment with your current level of consciousness and maturity
  • gain clarity and peace through resolving contradictory voices inside of yourself
  • liberate stuck emotions so their energies can flow into what has heart and meaning for you right now
  • cultivate radical self acceptance and gain confidence in your ability to respond to what your life and your body are conspiring to teach you as a person of power
  • clear addictions at their root
  • stop being overwhelmed by empathy or the energy of others in your life
  • learn to find the message in your symptoms and wake up to your body’s subtle cues before they become illness
  • bring forward movement to a deeply stuck place such as finances, relationships, etc.
  • develop strong healthy boundaries

If you feel excited (and maybe a little bit scared) by all of this — this process is for you! There are few things more fundamentally nourishing than following the path of your healing and transmuting what has been poison in your life into medicine for yourself (and the rest of us). Pull up a chair, get comfortable and let’s begin the adventure!

How do sessions work?

Deep Liberation Sessions are offered via video chat, phone, or in person and are one hour long. Deep rooted or chronic issues can sometimes take multiple sessions to clear completely, but usually there are significant results after one session.

While Deep Liberation can be incredibly effective for acute issues, clients committed to a transformational process that transcends one acute issue find weekly or bi-weekly sessions extremely beneficial. Many of these clients have worked for years in psychotherapy or various other healing modalities but still felt trapped in old patterns, unable to access the fullness of themselves, unable to shake old fears, addictions and internal blocks that kept them from doing what they are most passionate about. After just one emotional clearing sessions, they experienced significant change that radiated out into their lives and the change increases exponentially as they continue weekly sessions.

Deep Liberation can work extremely well in partnership with other modalities. Occasionally during sessions clients own inner wisdom will guide them to other modalities needed to help transform, such as psychotherapy, massage, working with a naturopath, etc. If clients would like me to, I am always happy to discuss or speak with other practitioners they are working with or give referrals.

When working with clients regularly over a period of time, they often eventually encounter a deep wound that feels impossible to clear through Deep Liberation. These wounds might include soul loss, an unresolved ancestral pattern or a shadow pattern. These generally indicate a shamanic healing session is needed to move the transformational process forward.

Creating a Culture of Collective Care

This work is different than a therapeutic model. Rather than becoming dependent on working with me regularly longterm like most therapeutic or coaching models, my goal is for you to learn the skills that will allow you to guide yourself on the path of your purpose, coming back only when you encounter a particularly hairy challenge you would like some support with.

Some of the tools we use during these sessions, like emotional clearing are meant to be practices that you can incorporate yourself into your day to day life. I am a specialist in this work so we will go deeper, quicker than you would on your own, but for you to be completely dependent on me to engage these practices would be an abuse of power.

This is why we have a range of online classes available through Last Mask Center Online to guide you in learning to engage these skills on your own and with the support of peers in community. In this way you can take on these practices as a path of mastery.

My vision is that everyone would have trusted peers they share skills with for deep inner engagement so we can support each other in stepping into greater and greater experiences of true freedom and power.

FAQ

is a body based practice that allows past trauma, stuck patterns, outmoded beliefs and stories and addictions to be tracked to their root and transformed there. One of the Deep Liberation primary tools is learning how to notice the triggers or patterns that arise for us frequently and then learning how to listen to our bodies to understand the past trauma linked to those triggers and transform it, stopping the past trauma from continuing to affect our current lives.

Deep Liberation is a combination of Inner Relationship Focusing techniques as developed by Ann Weiser Cornell and Eugene Gendlin and Emotional Clearing created by Christina Pratt of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing.

Focusing was developed by Eugene Gendlin through his research of what allowed breakthroughs to happen during psychotherapy. He listened to thousands of recorded sessions and found that the commonality between people who experienced breakthroughs was that they experienced a felt shift in their body as they were speaking. Focusing is a body of techniques that helps one to learn to listen deeply to the body and experience the felt sense, that bodily knowing just beyond words of the issue, trigger or pattern arising in your life and use that as a guide to transform your relationship with the issue itself. Inevitably, when we really see what’s arising as our body is experiencing it, it shifts.

The techniques I learned from Christina Pratt work hand in hand with the focusing techniques, but speed up the process and allow deeper patterns to be uprooted at once. Rather than simply coming into presence with the felt sense and allowing it to shift on its own– we work to track whatever arises to its root whether it be a part of us wounded in childhood, emotional patterns (often appearing as weather, such as a storm in your chest), limiting belief systems or artifacts– such as a balled up fist in your gut or a stone shell around your heart. We then work with archetypal energies to shift and transform what we find so it comes into alignment with our current level of consciousness and maturity and allows radical change to occur.

The system I use is almost identical to that which Christina Pratt originated. With her blessing, I incorporate Focusing because I find it allows the changes that occur to be more deeply grounded in the body. Rather than simply falling prey to the controlling or judgmental voices inside us that are sure they know what’s best for us– Focusing allows us to truly let the body make decisions rather than our ego and allows us to engage with our inner landscape with true compassion and acceptance for everything that arises. I also find that the techniques of Focusing allow me to better guide people who might be completely cut off from their body or their emotions, have trouble visualizing or don’t sense energy, in opening up and having a deeply engaged transformative experience.

No. If you have a strong sense of what you want to change or shift or the triggers arising in your life, that’s excellent. If not, that’s also excellent– I can simply spend the first 10 minutes of a session guiding you to sense with your body what’s most wanting your attention right now. Likewise, if you have many issues arising and are not sure which is most important, we can take a few minutes before the start of the session to discuss and sense into each with your body.

Each session begins with me guiding you into your body with a grounding meditation and calling in of the sacred directions and elements to create a container for the transformations that will occur during the session.

Next, we discuss what triggers or patterns you are wanting to work on and I guide you in sensing with your body which most needs your attention right now.

We then dive into the session, starting either the felt sense of the situation you are in or the sensation or pain you are experiencing in your body and allow the felt sense to guide us through the rest of the session, tracking the energies that arise to their root and clearing them as early as we can– shifting every later iteration of the same pattern in your life. You will speak out loud what you are sensing and I will guide you and give you directions as you speak and track the energies and emotions that arise. This is not an intellectual or abstract exercise, but something deeply felt in the heart and the body viscerally as we adventure together through your emotional landscape.

After we find a good stopping place, often an integration of an energy that results in feelings of radiance, strength, power or joy and energies that have been lost or absent for sometime retrieved and activated– I guide you through the grounding exercise again. We then take some time to discuss any questions and what your missions for after the session are based on what your body has communicated it needs to fully integrate the energies you retrieved into your life. This could be something symbolic like wearing a beautiful headband that feels like a crown and reminds you of your sovereignty, something that involves skill building like starting to energetically work with boundaries more and only saying yes to something someone asks of you after you give yourself 24 hours to think about it or something that involves ritual– like performing a grief ritual to release and reconcile a deep loss. I will then email you notes from the session that include what came up and next steps.

If you’re having a phone session or computer session, make sure that you have earbuds with a microphone or a headset so you don’t have to hold onto your phone and can fully be present to your body. Make sure that you are in a place that is relatively quiet where you can be undisturbed for the length of the session.

If you wish, you can prepare beforehand a brief description of what you most want to transform and/or what challenges you have been facing recently, but if you are unclear we can incorporate sensing into this as part of the session.

As I am not a licensed psychotherapist or counselor, Deep Liberation is not a form of therapy. However, I do have multiple clients that have reported they have experienced more visceral and permanent transformations and breakthroughs in their work with me than with years of traditional therapy. This is not to disparage psychotherapy, psychiatry or psychoanalysis. I find that Deep Liberation can work very well in partnership with someone who is in therapy, analysis or seeing a psychiatrist, it simply depends on each person’s individual needs. Often, the more comprehensive a support system a person has, the deeper they can transform. What each person needs in a support system is very unique to that person.

I define trauma as any deeply distressing or disturbing experience from our past that limits our ability to embody the fullness of ourselves in the present. For some trauma is caused by very intense and extreme situations, for others equal trauma can be caused by situations that on the surface seem less extreme. If you feel your life is limited by events that have happened to you in the past, then this work is for you.

I define being triggered as amping up or shutting down in response to something. We react in a way that is out of proportion to what has actually just occurred. Additionally, we often feel much younger than our actual age in these moments. Consciously or unconsciously in these moments, we are projecting our past experiences onto the present moment and thus are unable to see the present moment clearly or react in alignment with our current level of consciousness and maturity.

There are many possible causes of triggers, but a major origin is in our childhood. As children, we sometime have traumatic experiences where we felt like were going to die, so we did something that perhaps went against our instincts in the moment to survive. For a child– many things feel like a threat of death. For example being annihilated, being exiled, being abandoned, being isolated or simply not being loved. In the moment of facing that perceived or actual threat– the child makes a decision to survive and a part of ourself is left making that same decision over and over again when we face similar situations as adults. That decision is no longer in alignment with our current level of consciousness and maturity and when in those situations again, we get triggered.

Deep Liberation helps us to track these triggers to where they first originated in our past and clear them there so the same triggers no longer affect us.
